Noel Savignac paints bright, colorful landscapes and abstract paintings that convey positive feelings for the viewers. His abstract-impressionistic, simplistic-folksy style comes from his love of the mountains, climbing 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado, fly fishing and fly tying, skiing, and 30 years as a scientist. His preferred medium is oil-on-canvas because of the way the pigments blend, how they flow on the canvas, and how easy a picture can be modified over several days. Pictures, photos, and plein air (outdoor) observations provide subject matter for his paintings. Fun, excitement, adventure, challenge, and scientific discipline are part of each oil and/or mixed media painting. His mission is to share his love of life and fine art with others through his paintings.
